Meet your instructors

Brian Hallam joins Break Free hailing from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville as he completes his Masters in Kinesiology and major in Exercise Physiology.

Brian's passion for understanding the intricate dynamics of the human body, particularly concerning athletes and therapy clients, is evident in his pursuits. With a keen eye on advancing his career, Brian aspires to attain the title of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).

His work and school experiences have been as enriching as his academic endeavors. During the Fall semester of 2022, Brian had the privilege of working alongside a Doctor of Physical Therapy, delving into the realms of rehabilitation and sports training. His focus on power development underscored his commitment to enhancing athletic performance and optimizing physical well-being.

Brian's journey has been marked by hands-on engagement and impactful contributions. As a Graduate Assistant at SIUE, he not only honed his skills but also imparted his knowledge to undergraduate students through teaching credited classes in Jogging, Weight Training, and Yoga. This role not only showcased his academic prowess but also his ability to inspire and educate future professionals in the field of exercise science.

Steve Hanley is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and stands as both a beacon of expertise and a catalyst for athletic excellence within the Springfield community. In his PT practice, Steve finds immense fulfillment in working with young athletes on their journey to recovery from injuries. Recognizing the critical importance of proper form and mechanics, particularly in high-intensity sports, Steve brings a meticulous attention to detail to his work. His multifaceted experiences - whether on the field, in the gym, or at the clinic - provide him with invaluable insights into the nuances of athletic performance and injury prevention.

Steve's vision extends beyond mere rehabilitation; he envisions a community where athletes are not only resilient but also empowered to reach new heights of strength and agility. Through his Break Free Sports Enhancement camp, he aims to equip athletes with the tools they need to excel in the upcoming athletic seasons. His anticipation is palpable as he looks forward to witnessing the graduates of his camp soar to new heights, running faster, jumping higher, and leaving their competition in the dust.

Driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a genuine desire to see his community thrive, Dr. Steve Hanley stands at the forefront of athletic empowerment, inspiring athletes to break free from limitations and unlock their full potential.
